Resurfacing renews the upper layers of the skin, so it works on everything visible on its surface.

How laser skin resurfacing works
- The doctor examines the skin and chooses the type and depth of the treatment
- The skin is cleansed and, if needed, an anaesthetic cream is applied
- The eyes are protected with goggles
- The laser covers the area in even passes; you feel warmth and tingling
- A soothing product is applied after the treatment
Care after a laser peel
- Don’t pick off flakes and crusts
- Apply SPF 50 daily
- Use gentle restorative skincare
- Avoid saunas, pools and tanning while the skin heals
- No other peels or scrubs for 2–3 weeks
How many laser resurfacing sessions are needed
After deep resurfacing, one session is often enough. Light and hybrid peels are usually done as a course of 3–4 sessions 3–4 weeks apart.
The skin looks fresher as soon as the redness fades. New collagen keeps forming for several months, so texture and firmness continue to improve.
The best time for laser resurfacing is autumn and winter, when the sun is less active. To remove scars, there is a separate treatment – scar and stretch mark treatment.

How is laser resurfacing different from a laser peel?
It is the same method at different depths. A laser peel renews the most superficial layer and needs almost no recovery. Resurfacing goes deeper, so it smooths wrinkles and texture more strongly, but the skin needs a few days to heal.
Is laser facial resurfacing painful?

Who is laser resurfacing contraindicated for?
The treatment is not performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with oncological diseases, active herpes or skin inflammation, a fresh tan, a tendency to keloids, or while taking isotretinoin and photosensitising medication.
