Які рубці лікує лазер
- Post-acne scars – atrophic “pits” on the cheeks, temples and chin. The erbium laser works best on these.
- Post-surgical scars – after a C-section, laparoscopy or plastic surgery. It’s best to start as soon as the scar has healed.
- Hypertrophic scars – raised above the skin, reddish and dense. The neodymium laser reduces their volume and redness.
- Scars after injuries, burns and chickenpox – the laser evens out texture and colour.

Laser scar removal: how it works
The Er:YAG erbium laser removes a microscopic layer of scar tissue layer by layer with great precision. The edges of the “pits” are smoothed and the surface levels with the surrounding skin.
At the same time, heat stimulates fibroblasts: new, orderly collagen forms in place of chaotic fibres. For hypertrophic scars the doctor adds the Nd:YAG neodymium laser, which, according to Fotona clinical data, improves scar colour, volume and elasticity.

How laser scar treatment works
Тривалість сеансу залежить від площі: від 20 хвилин для невеликого рубця до години для великих рубців на тілі.
- 1. Examination
Лікар визначає тип і «вік» рубця, фототип шкіри, перевіряє протипоказання.
- 2. Preparation
The area is cleansed. If needed, an anaesthetic cream is applied to make the treatment comfortable.
- 3. Laser work
The doctor treats the scar and the edge of healthy skin, combining modes for the specific goal.
- 4. After the treatment
Redness and slight flaking last a few days. Healing care and SPF are needed.
How many sessions are needed to remove scars
Зазвичай курс – 3–5 процедур з інтервалом 4–6 тижнів. Для глибоких або давніх рубців постакне лікар може рекомендувати більше сеансів.
Перші зміни видно вже через кілька тижнів після першої процедури. Колаген продовжує перебудовуватися ще 3–6 місяців після курсу, тому рубці поступово стають усе менш помітними.

Can a scar be completely removed with a laser?
No method can remove a scar completely, but the laser makes it much less visible: it levels the texture, lightens the colour and softens the tissue. The degree of improvement depends on the type, depth and age of the scar.
Is laser scar treatment painful?
You feel tingling and warmth. For sensitive areas and deep treatment the doctor applies an anaesthetic cream, so the treatment is comfortable.
When can a post-surgical scar be treated with a laser?
Usually 3–4 weeks after the stitches are removed, once the scar has fully healed. Starting early gives a better result; the doctor determines the exact timing.

How long is recovery?
After the erbium laser the skin is red and flaky for a few days, and small crusts may form. They must not be picked off. After the neodymium laser redness passes within a few hours.
Who is laser scar treatment contraindicated for?
The treatment is not performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with oncological diseases, active inflammation or herpes in the treatment area, a fresh tan, a tendency to keloids without prior consultation, or while taking photosensitising medication.
